In today’s digital age, the demand for a seamless experience between social media platforms is constantly increasing. In this direction, Meta has launched a new feature, through which users can now connect their WhatsApp profile with Accounts Center.
How it works
Meta has announced that users will soon get the option to add WhatsApp accounts to the Accounts Center. Till now there was an option to add profiles of Facebook, Instagram and Messenger, but now WhatsApp will also be added to this list.
This means that if you want, you will be able to share WhatsApp status directly to Facebook or Instagram Stories. However, for now this feature is not available for posting from Instagram and Facebook to WhatsApp, but it can also be added in the future.
WhatsApp Accounts Center
Meta has confirmed that adding WhatsApp to the Accounts Center is completely optional. If you don’t want to link your WhatsApp profile, it’s your choice. Also, this feature is not going to affect WhatsApp’s privacy and security in any way.
Meta says
“Our approach to WhatsApp is simple. Your account is separate from other apps and you control it. Adding it is not only optional, but it will be turned off by default.”
Integration of WhatsApp & Meta
The aim of this new initiative of Meta is to give users a platform where all the apps can be managed from one place. The advantage of this move to better integrate WhatsApp with the Meta ecosystem is that the log-in process is going to be easier with Single Sign-On.
- But there are some worrying aspects associated with this initiative.
- WhatsApp has long been known for its privacy and end-to-end encryption.
Some users may fear that integrating Meta with other apps will affect the privacy of WhatsApp.
