WhatsApp is constantly bringing new updates to improve the experience of its users. Now news is coming that the company is preparing to make the ‘View Once’ message accessible on linked devices for Android users as well.

This update has been received by some beta testers (version 2.25.3.7) earlier, but soon it is going to be rolled out for everyone. So how beneficial will this feature be and how will it affect your chatting experience? Let’s know all the details about this in detail.

View Once’ viewing facility

Until now, ‘View Once’ images and videos on WhatsApp could only be viewed on the primary device. If you tried to open it from a linked device, you were shown a message like “Waiting for this message. This may take a while.”

But now this problem is about to end! WhatsApp is planning to make this feature available on linked devices as well, so that you can easily view ‘View Once’ messages on any connected device.

Working on This Feature

In November 2023 itself, WhatsApp was testing sending ‘View Once’ media from linked devices in the beta version. But till now this feature has not been available to all users. Now that WhatsApp is providing the facility to view ‘View Once’ media on linked devices, it is expected that the company can soon provide the feature of sending self-destructing messages from these devices as well.

Whatsapp Security Flaw

A few days ago, a WhatsApp security bug was revealed, which allowed users to reopen previously viewed ‘View Once’ messages. This bug could pose a threat to users’ privacy. But Meta quickly resolved the issue and ensured that users’ chats remain safe.

Limitations on Linked Devices

WhatsApp has expanded the functionality of linked devices to a greater extent, but some features are still not available on these devices. According to WhatsApp’s support page, you cannot use these features on linked devices:
